Magnetic Nanoparticles

Iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles are a unique class of nanomaterials that can be easily manipulated by magnetic fields due to their superparamagnetic properties. Their surface characteristics can be tailored through various modifications, making them highly versatile for a wide range of applications, particularly in biomedical and environmental sciences, and materials engineering.

AQM produces high purity iron (II, III) oxide (Fe3O4) magnetic nanoparticles. Our  nanoparticles exhibit a strong magnetic response, have a long shelf life, and feature a large specific surface area. Their surfaces can be modified to possess specific properties, making them suitable for diverse uses. Common applications include ferrofluids, probing, recording media, soil/wastewater contamination treatment, bio-separation, and medical diagnostics.

In particular, AQM specializes in designing and fabricating Fe3O4 nanoparticles functionalized with various chemical groups, unlocking their exciting possibilities for life science applications. The functionalization enables their conjugation with biomolecules such as nucleic acids, proteins, aptamers, antibodies, and other ligands of interest. This expands their potential use for applications in bio-separation, bio-imaging, targeted drug delivery, and cancer detection.
